You're going to appreciate this sales tip even if you've heard it before. It will work even during this uncertain economy. Why? The reason is I've added a major way to create consumer confidence to the process.
First, when you sit down with a prospective client or customer, your job is to experience what they need and want. Then shift into a particular mindset: the belief that the death of the US economy has been greatly exaggerated, and in fact it's still going along great.
Just turn off your rational, left brain thinking about what happened in the past. Seriously. Then become completely certain that consumers are buying expensive toys and cars today as they did before.
How do you know? Start paying attention to all the new luxury cars (Mercedes, Jaguars, BMWs, Hummers, Lexus) that you see on the road. Notice on your next trip to CostCo or Sam's Club how few if any game consoles are in stock. They have a hard time keeping up with the demand.
How fast is the iPhone selling? Apple has had a hard time during 2008 keeping up with the demand.
People are buying things, both products and services. Not those with poor credit, just the people you want as clients or customers...those with money.

Now as you talk to your prospect, holding the above beliefs to be certain, present to them the solutions and the proof. Always give them two options now a days because you want to increase certainty and minimize confusion. Never give the prospect a Yes or No choice (except in certain special situations.) And then after you ask them to choose, shut up and don't care which they choose.
If you've held your belief correctly and with certainty, the person with the most certainty wins. You can notice your sales increase by following this method.
