Today I read an extremely interesting article about how to get a good night's sleep on Ken McCarthy's blog that began with a case study of how to sleep better and grow richer. This article talked about Warren Buffet and Salomon Brothers. Also, it discussed the results of a study from the Harvard Medical School and the University of California at Berkeley. That study showed that people who got less sleep "dramatically overreacted" in the brain to negative events.
Not only did I learn some immediately useful tips on sleeping better, I learned another reason why it's so important for entrepreneurs and business people to get a good night's sleep. I know a woman who is a living example that proves this fact.
She regularly stays up to 3:00 AM, and she has been struggling with getting her hypnosis practice going. It was as if she didn't notice the urgent matters that needed her attention. She could have been sleep walking through life. Well her businesses sort of peaked and then fell apart. It was easy to blame other people for their errors, but as Harry Truman said: "The buck stops here." Taking personal responsibility for your actions and their results is the only way one can get accurate feedback and correct course towards success.
